Jim & Jeanie:

A great experience. Mr. Nichols is a very talented designer who delights in working with the environment and the effects of natural light. He worked with us very closely to achieve the integration of the site (a ravine) and the spaciousness of the interior. The look is transitional, modern, yet using a lot of natural materials (different wood finishes, granite, etc.) and very welcoming. He was able to create a total living space that works well for family living and for entertaining. It was a pleasure working with him. He also was our contractor. Highly recommended.

Sheila L.:

This was a wonderful project. I had just purchased an old house with charm and potential; but some rooms were dark. I wanted to find some way to bring the outside in. Also, there were some bad, structural cracks. From our first meeting, Tim was enthusiastic. He explained how they could fix the structural defects and asked me to describe the atmosphere that I most wanted to create. Working with such a receptive designer is both a pleasure and a great satisfaction. I had been to Italy and love Tuscany. His designers and tradesmen worked together with me to transform the place in ways that I, frankly, could never have imagined to be possible. Now the sun pours through. The kitchen is open and convenient. I love to entertain. They designed special built-ins for my books and computer. By moving a wall and a door between the kitchen and laundry they gave me new space I needed, and the new layout makes the whole floor plan flow from one room to the next. I’m still thrilled.

Joanne and Dave:

I would wholeheartedly recommend them as the most creative thinkers, designers, planners and executioners of a project–big or small. It is a group that can suggest truly innovative alternatives when money is tight. They are renovation artists who tap into the spirit of the house and its surroundings. Check out my project (Writer’s Refuge).
